Where We Go: Glacier National Park is where landscape photographers want to go when they die. Luckily, you can go there while still among the living in this breathtaking weeklong course with landscape photographer and professional instructor Tim Cooper. As a Glacier veteran, he takes you straight to the park’s premier shooting spots. Whether along the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road, the magical Avalanche Creek, or the towering cedars, snow-mantled summits, and sparkling mountain lakes that abound here, you’ll understand why Glacier is a landscape photographer’s paradise.

What You Learn: When you visit Glacier Park with RMSP, you don’t merely take in the sights and collect a few pretty pictures—Cooper ensures that you leave a better, more educated, and more thoughtful photographer. During classroom hours, he covers topics like creative landscape composition, mastering the Zone system, and photographing for HDR. During morning and evening field shoots, you practice these techniques when the light graces the landscape with its greatest beauty. Patiently, and with his easygoing manner, Cooper offers hands-on assistance when you need it most. During group critiques, you learn from having a professional study your work and give constructive feedback before the next outing.

Considerations: You should be comfortable with the manual exposure operation of your digital camera. All skill levels are encouraged to attend, but lectures are not tailored to basic principles. Due to some hiking at high altitude (7,000 feet), it is recommended you be in good physical condition.
