Taking pictures has been my hobby since high school. As hobbies go, I do not devote as much time to them as I would like - life is just too busy. I’ve taken gazillions of pictures – and always planned on improving - someday. Going to the RMSP workshop in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming was a dream come true. It was a solid week of taking landscape photos (sunrises and sunsets) in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. I loved it. The instructor and assistant (Doug Johnson and Doug Ness) were perfect – fun, knowledgeable, encouraging, challenging and helpful. They answered all kinds of photography questions. The daily student photo critiques (where we all submitted 3 or 4 pictures that we took and the Doug told us where we could improve) were invaluable. I learned so much. The process changed the way I take pictures. It also rekindled my love of photography and reinforced that there is still so much more to learn. Lucky for me, I attended the class with my 13-year old daughter. It was a great way to spend time with her doing something different and educational. She jumped right in with the more seasoned photographers and even developed (pun intended) her own perspective. It was great fun. It was a special gift to share photography with her - a wonderful experience all around ... and we have the pictures to prove it.
