Course: Basic Photography in Texas Hill Country
"If you are unhappy with your composition, try taking a step closer to your subject, and reframing
your picture."
This is just one of many pearls of wisdom I picked up during my attendance at the RMSP Basic Photography
course held in Fredericksburg, Texas. After years of being stuck in 'Auto Mode' and taking thousands of
snapshots and getting only the occasional decent photograph, I decided it was finally time to actually
learn something about photography. A friend turned me on to RMSP, and I started off by attending a Photo
Weekend held in Helena, MT. In two days I learned more about photography than I had in the previous 20
years. Hungry for more, I scoured the RMSP website and decided on Basic Photography in Texas Hill Country.
Lynn and Nate were knowledgeable and patient instructors, and with their guidance I was able to solidify
in my mind many of the concepts I was introduced to in the Weekend course, as well as expand my knowledge
base considerably. More importantly I was able to get out in the field and actually put this knowledge
to use and create some photos that I'm pretty proud of!
All in all it was a fantastic week. I learned a ton, met some wonderful people, and took a giant step
closer to becoming a better photographer!
