Spend a week photographing foggy mornings at Ruby, Second, and Rialto beaches; capture the majesty of rainforest waterfalls, including Sol Duc, Merriman, and Marymere; and explore the mystical, fern-draped, old-growth trees in the Hoh Rainforest.

What You Learn: The more you know about your photography subject, the better chance you have of creating beautiful images. Having Don Mammoser, a professional photographer and former zoologist, lead you through the Olympic Peninsula helps you gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of this living landscape. In addition to his pearls of knowledge about the region’s flora and fauna, you also benefit from classroom lectures, on-location shoots, and insightful critiques led by Mammoser. His lectures range from composition for landscape photography to techniques for improving your macro photography. During field shoots, a small group size allows you to time to practice, explore new techniques, and get personal assistance from Mammoser. His field lessons are reinforced during constructive group critique sessions, allowing you to learn from the group’s body of work while identifying your own areas for improvement.
