Where We Go: Standing within 10 feet of a tiger, wolf or grizzly bear in the wild may be an exhilarating experience, but it is not the way most serious wildlife photographers want to get images of these impressive animals. Encroaching on their turf can be dangerous for the animal and the photographer alike. This workshop, held at Triple D Game Farm outside Glacier National Park, offers you the opportunity to create portfolio-quality images of animals, while respecting their space and your safety.
What You Learn: Year after year, the lively animals and dedicated photography instruction on this workshop have inspired participants. With most of your time spent creating images of animals—which may include bobcats, wolves, mountain lions, bears and tigers—Doug helps you gain confidence in the environment and shows you new ways to hone your techniques. During classroom hours, Doug’s insightful lectures cover composition, exposure and how to anticipate critical moments. He offers a comprehensive discussion on the equipment best suited for wildlife photography. Group critique sessions allow you to train your eye by having your own work reviewed and by reviewing the work of others.
Who Should Attend: You should be comfortable with the manual exposure operation of your camera. Film cameras are welcome, however only digital images can be critiqued.
