Intermediate Adobe Lightroom Classic

This class builds on the basics of the Develop Module in Adobe Lightroom Classic. Instructor Rob Gappert will take students to the next steps with their image editing. Assuming you already know how to import your images into Lightroom and generally navigate the software, Rob will teach you some sophisticated tips for image editing in this three session course.

Topics include:

  • Tone curve
  • HSL
  • Black and white
  • Vignetting
  • HDRs
  • Panoramas
  • Sharpening and noise reduction
  • Exporting images for a variety of applications

To take this course you must have a basic understanding of Adobe Lightroom and feel confident importing images and working in the Library Module.

This course will be held in Room #204 at RMSP. To get to Room #204, enter through the double doors at the address below. Take the stairs to the second floor, turn right and the classroom will be directly in front of you. There will be signs posted in the building directing you to your classroom.

This class will meet on the following dates and at the following times:
  • Tuesday, April 7: 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. - Classroom session
  • Thursday, April 9: 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. - Classroom session
  • Tuesday, April 14: 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. - Classroom session

Equipment

  • A laptop computer (call us if you are unsure of whether your laptop can run Lightroom).
  • Adobe Lightroom Classic software (we will not be taking class time to install software, so please arrive with Lightroom Classic fully installed and operational).
  • An external mouse is also highly recommended, especially if you have a hard time using your laptop’s track pad.

What is the cutoff date for registration?

We accept registrations on a first-come first-served basis until a course is full. Register early!

Depending on the course there can be a maximum of 14, 16 or 20 students.

What is RMSP's Evening Courses cancellation policy?

Tuition is refunded in full minus a $25 processing fee (per course) if you notify RMSP at least five business days before the course start date. If your cancellation is received fewer than five days prior to the course start date, full tuition is retained by RMSP. No refunds are given for cancellations or no-shows after the course is in progress. Refunds will be processed within 30 days after our office receives notice of cancellation.

Rob Gappert is a landscape and nature photographer. He grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota but now calls Missoula home. Rob enjoys the outdoors and has been shooting landscapes for the better part of 15 years. He loves to travel with his family and is a self-proclaimed “National Park Junkie”. Rob is a 2015 Summer Intensive graduate and loves to share his passion for the art.
