Do you want to run a photo business? Maybe you just want to learn all there is to know about your camera? Either way, check out our One Day Events. These new classes are short, intense, and will teach you more than you thought possible in eight hours.

One Day Events come in two types: "Day With A Pro" and "Mastering Your Camera." Each event is catered to a different audience, but both have the same principle: give you the RMSP experience in a condense, one-day time frame.

If you would like to make money with your photography, check out the Day With A Pro. These classes will put you in front of a professional photographer who will tell you how to get started and walk you through some of the challenges facing aspiring professionals today.

If photography is more of a hobby, but you still want to learn as much as possible in a day, look at Mastering Your Camera . This class will start with a review of basic exposure concepts and continue onto advanced exposure topics like Zone System and outsmarting the meter. By the end, you will have the skills to shoot in any situation.

Both classes will give you hands-on shooting time with the instructor and time to apply what you learn and ask questions. This isn't a "lecture only" conference where you sit and listen to the instructor without the opportunity to interact. Our instructors and assistants are there for you. They want to ensure you leave the class with hands-on experience and answers to all your questions.

To learn more about these events, pick one below and read all the details!

Description

Have you ever photographed with a professional camera?

Ever worked with professional artificial lighting?

Or how about assembled and positioned a soft box to light a portrait for a magazine cover?

If you answered “no” to any of the above, get ready to roll up your sleeves and satisfy your photo curiosity in a “learning-by-doing” sort of way.

Guided by a working professional photographer, during this immersive, one-day event you will have an opportunity to experiment with capturing spectacular images during two shooting sessions. During the rest of the day you listen to lectures and participate in a group conversation, where you get a real and honest look at today’s photography world. You’ll learn about different career options, how to create a vision-based body of work, and generally what life as a photographer is like. Also … you will get free pizza for lunch.

This crash course is more than a day with a camera. It’s a chance for you to see into the future and experience what it’s like being a professional photographer!

Created with you – a budding professional photographer – in mind, our new Day with a Pro series of courses are designed to get you out of your chair, and onto the set of an actual photo shoot. At each one of these eye-opening photo experiences, there will be no desks or text books. Instead, there will be lights, cameras, modifiers, models … and whatever creativity, curiosity and questions you bring with you!

Description

Are you looking to gain confidence using your camera in difficult shooting situations? Do you want hands-on time with instructors to ask questions, gain insight and see first-hand how they would handle a shooting situation? Are you looking to make your images and editing more consistent?

Mastering Your Camera is a one-day class built to help improve your confidence and consistency. It starts with a review of basic exposure concepts to ensure all students are at the same level and have a good foundation of F-stops, shutter speeds, and ISOs. Then, the instructor transitions into more advanced exposure concepts like outsmarting the meter and zone system. The day finishes with a field shoot, editing demo, and critique where you can get your questions answered and learn ways to improve your images.

We limit the class size to 20 students and provide qualified teaching assistants and administrators to ensure the teacher-to-student ratio remains better than 1:10. If you have questions, don’t worry, we got you!

If you are looking for a more detailed (although tentative) outline, check the “Schedule” tab above! If you have a question about the event, give us a call or check the FAQ’s underneath the “Register” button above. We hope to see you there!
